Answers to common questions about our approach, programs, and what to expect.
The discovery call is a free 20-minute conversation where we discuss your current health challenges, goals, and history. I'll explain how my approach works and we'll determine together if we're a good fit. There's no pressure — it's simply an opportunity to connect and see if this is the right path for you.
During your discovery call, I'll recommend the program that best fits your situation. The Hormone Reset is ideal for those new to this approach or with straightforward concerns. The Metabolic Reset suits more complex issues requiring deeper support. The Vital Future Reset is for those committed to long-term transformation and prevention.
Conventional medicine often focuses on managing symptoms with medication. My functional approach looks for the root causes of your symptoms — whether it's hormonal imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, gut dysfunction, or lifestyle factors. By addressing these underlying issues, we can often resolve symptoms naturally and sustainably.
No referral is needed. You can book directly with me. However, I encourage you to maintain your relationship with your primary care physician. I work alongside your existing healthcare team, not in place of them.
Sessions are available both online (via video call) and in-person, depending on your location and preference. Many clients find online sessions convenient and just as effective. We can discuss what works best for you during the discovery call.
The initial intake session is approximately 60-90 minutes, allowing time to thoroughly understand your health history and goals. Follow-up sessions are typically 45-60 minutes, focusing on reviewing progress and adjusting your plan.
After your intake, you'll receive a personalized plan including nutrition recommendations, supplement suggestions, and lifestyle adjustments. Some clients notice improvements within the first few weeks, while others may take longer depending on their specific situation. We track progress together and adjust as needed.
Yes. The Metabolic Reset and Vital Future Reset programs include email support between sessions for questions and guidance. For the Hormone Reset program, limited email support is available. I'm here to support you throughout your journey.
Lab tests are optional but highly recommended. They provide objective data about what's happening in your body — revealing things like thyroid function, blood sugar levels, hormone balance, and inflammation markers. This information allows me to create a more targeted and effective plan.
Common tests include a comprehensive thyroid panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3), metabolic markers (glucose, insulin, HbA1c), lipid panel, liver function, hormone profile, inflammation markers, and key nutrients. The specific tests recommended depend on your symptoms and health goals.
Lab test costs vary depending on the specific panels needed for your situation. We discuss this during your intake session so you can make an informed decision. Some basic tests may be covered by your health insurance if ordered through your GP.
Yes, if you have recent lab results (within the last 3-6 months), please bring them to your intake session. I review them using functional medicine reference ranges, which are often narrower than standard ranges, to identify patterns that may have been overlooked.
Individual consultations may be partially covered by supplementary insurance (aanvullende verzekering) in the Netherlands, as I'm registered with professional organizations. Program fees are typically not covered. I provide invoices that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Yes, payment plans are available for the Metabolic Reset and Vital Future Reset programs. We can discuss options during your discovery call or intake session to find a solution that works for you.
I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. This allows me to offer the slot to someone else who may be waiting. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged in full.
No. My services complement but do not replace medical care. I don't diagnose diseases or prescribe medications. I provide nutrition counseling, lifestyle guidance, and functional health recommendations. Always consult your doctor for medical advice and before making changes to any prescribed treatments.
Yes. Many of my clients are on medication for thyroid, blood pressure, cholesterol, or other conditions. I work alongside your current treatment, focusing on nutrition and lifestyle factors that support your overall health. Any changes to medication should always be discussed with your prescribing doctor.
I understand that frustration. Many of my clients come to me after years of trying different diets, seeing multiple doctors, and feeling unheard. The functional approach is different — we look at the whole picture and address root causes that are often missed. While I can't guarantee results, most clients see meaningful improvements when they commit to the process.
Yes. I have experience working with autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto's, metabolic conditions like PCOS and insulin resistance, as well as gut issues, chronic fatigue, and hormonal imbalances related to perimenopause and menopause. Each person is unique, so I create individualized protocols rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.
